The Voice of Jehovah

Back in the early 1900s a young man went to an office to apply for a Morse code reader job. The office was filled with background noise because of the Morse code transmitter. There was a sign in the office that informed any applicants to take an application and have a seat until called.. He stepped in and saw several other gentlemen applying for the same job. They were filling out applications.Immediately, the young man went to the back office, although he was not called by anyone. The other applicants became upset because he was not called to the back.. Of course, they must have thought, 'Who is he to just walk to the back without being called..how rude!?!?

Well minutes later, the young man and the employer came out of the back office. The man told the other applicants that they could go home because the job had just been filled.

They were astonished at this announcement!!! How on earth had the job been filled so quickly?

Remember that once the young man walked in the office, the Morse code transmitter was emitting messages. What message was being emitted? The message was 'If you can understand this message, please come to the back office and the job will be yours immediately.'

The young man knew Morse code and he was able to heed the instructions of the Morse code transmitter
True Christians can learn much from this story. Do we hear the voice of Jehovah? Although we have many background noises and other distractions in our lives, it's imperative that we hear Jehovah's voice and heed his instructions.
According to the Insight book Volume 2, in times past Jehovah's voice has been audibly heard by humans on three occasions.
1 Jesus' baptism. (Mark 1:11)
2 Jesus' transfiguration. (Mark 9:7)
3 In 33 C.E. shortly before Jesus' last Pass
over. (John 12:28, 29).
Although we are not able to audibly hear Jehovah's voice, Jehovah still speaks to modern day Christians.

We can hear God's voice by recognizing and paying attention with obedience to what God has caused to be written in His Word. It's essential that we read Jehovah's word daily and apply his principles and guidelines in our life.
If we don't read his word daily and meditate on what we read, we will never have the privilege of hearing Jehovah's voice.
Also, God's Word is expounded on at the Kingdom Hall!
